The Department of State Services (DSS) has arraigned former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and his son, Abdulaziz, on a five-count charge bordering on terrorism financing and illegal possession of firearms.
The defendants pleaded not guilty before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday.
Count one accuses Malami of “knowingly abetting terrorism financing” by refusing to prosecute suspected terrorism financiers while he served as AGF. Other charges allege illegal possession of a Sturm Magnum firearm, live rounds, and expended cartridges found in their Kebbi residence in December 2025.
The court rejected an oral bail application and ordered them remanded in DSS custody until the trial commences on February 20.
