Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Umuahia North, alongside aspirants contesting the House of Representatives seat for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, have unanimously endorsed Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, popularly known as Don Lulu, as their consensus candidate for the position.
The resolution emerged from a strategic stakeholders’ meeting convened to address issues of equity, fairness, and political stability within the constituency.
A communiqué issued at the end of the meeting stated that the House of Representatives seat should be ceded to the Ohuhu Clan, to allow the clan complete the remaining four years of an existing eight-year tenure arrangement within the constituency.
The endorsement followed extensive consultations among APC leaders, party faithful, and all aspirants present at the gathering, who collectively agreed to step down in favour of Mayor Igbokwe in the spirit of unity and political inclusiveness.
Stakeholders further urged APC supporters across the federal constituency to remain united and committed to the party’s overall success in the forthcoming elections.
The meeting ended on a peaceful and cordial note, with all parties reaffirming their commitment to the progress and harmony of the constituency.
