MAKURDI – Troops of Operation Whirl Strike (OPWS) have arrested seven notorious cultists in a precision raid in Makurdi, Benue State.
The operation, conducted on October 30, 2025, targeted a suspected cultist hideout in the North Bank area.
According to Lieutenant Ahmad Zubairu, the OPWS spokesman, the suspects are believed to be involved in armed robbery, drug abuse, and cult-related violence.
Recovered items include two locally fabricated pistols, a laptop, a cartridge, ammunition, a dagger, and several bags of charms.
All suspects are in custody for further investigation. The Force Commander, Major General Moses Gara, commended the troops and urged youths to shun cultism and criminal behavior.
