President Bola Tinubu has nominated General Christopher Musa, the immediate-past Chief of Defence Staff, as the new Minister of Defence.
This nomination comes shortly after the resignation of the former minister, Mohammed Badaru. General Musa, a highly decorated officer with extensive experience in national security and counter-insurgency operations, is expected to bring his operational expertise to bear on the country’s ongoing security challenges.
If confirmed by the National Assembly, General Musa will assume leadership of the Ministry of Defence at a critical time, overseeing the nation’s military strategy amidst widespread insecurity.
