A coalition of youths from the Abia South Senatorial District has called on the Member Representing Obingwa West State Constituency, Hon. Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, to contest for the Senate seat in the 2027 general election.
The group, speaking through its leadership in a statement issued on Thursday, described Erondu Jnr as a grassroots mobilizer, a youth-friendly leader, and a performing lawmaker with a track record of impactful representation. They noted that his achievements in the State House of Assembly have positioned him as a credible candidate to take the district’s voice to the National Assembly.
“We have watched closely, and we are convinced that Hon. Erondu Jnr has the capacity, competence, and vision to represent Abia South effectively in the Senate. He understands our struggles and has the political will to attract federal presence to our communities,” the statement read.
The youths urged the lawmaker to heed their call, pledging their full support in mobilizing votes across the six local government areas that make up the senatorial district.
Hon. Erondu Jnr is yet to officially respond to the call, but sources close to him indicate he is consulting with stakeholders and party leaders.
