OSOGBO — Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and several state governors have arrived in Osogbo for the All Progressives Congress mega rally, part of the party’s final mobilisation efforts ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that governors Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), Ahmed Usman Ododo (Kogi), and Uba Sani (Kaduna) are among those present for the rally scheduled for Thursday. Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola welcomed the party leaders, with the gathering expected to draw supporters from across Osun’s 30 local government areas.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the rally comes as the Independent National Electoral Commission set Thursday, August 13, as the campaign deadline ahead of the August 15 poll. The APC leadership is using the final campaign stretch to consolidate support for its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, a former NIWA Managing Director.
The mega rally serves as the APC’s major show of strength before the campaign window closes at midnight. However, singer Davido, whose uncle Governor Ademola Adeleke is seeking re-election on the Accord Party platform, dismissed the APC’s chances, writing: “If you like gather Jesus 12 disciples o ma LULE for the 3rd time”.
