The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has slammed Governor Seyi Makinde over the rising wave of killings, kidnappings, and armed attacks across the state.
In a strongly worded statement on Sunday, the opposition party said the governor has failed in his primary duty of protecting lives and property. Consequently, APC knocks Makinde over insecurity in Oyo, demanding his immediate resignation.
“Makinde has lost control. Bandits now operate freely in many local governments. He should resign or face mass protest,” an APC spokesman said.
The party cited recent attacks in Ibarapa, Oke Ogun, and parts of Ibadan, where farmers and commuters have been repeatedly ambushed.
Governor Makinde is yet to officially respond. However, a government source described the APC’s demand as “political grandstanding.”
Residents continue to live in fear, with many calling on the federal government to intervene.
