Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has commended voters for their impressive turnout in Saturday’s governorship election, expressing strong confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will secure victory.
Speaking after casting his vote at his polling unit in Ikogosi-Ekiti, Oyebanji praised the peaceful conduct of the electorate and described the turnout as a testament to the people’s commitment to democratic governance.
“We have seen an impressive turnout across the state. Our people have demonstrated maturity and a deep understanding of the democratic process. I am confident that the APC will emerge victorious,” Oyebanji stated.
The governor also lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for their professionalism in ensuring a smooth electoral process.
The election, which featured the APC, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC), saw over one million registered voters deciding the state’s next governor across 16 local government areas.
Political observers noted that the high voter turnout could significantly impact the outcome, with all three major parties expressing optimism about their chances.
