Liverpool Manager Cautions Patience With Returning Isak
LIVERPOOL – Liverpool manager Arne Slot has urged for measured expectations as record signing Alexander Isak returns to training ahead of Sunday’s high-profile match against Manchester City.
The Swedish striker, who joined from Newcastle for a British-record £125 million, has been absent for three weeks due to a groin injury and has yet to score in the Premier League for his new club.
“He will train for the first time today with the team again,” Slot confirmed, while emphasizing that rehabilitation cannot fully replicate match fitness. “As much as we try to replicate it, that’s simply not possible. So, again I have to say, give him some time.”
The manager also provided a positive update on goalkeeper Alisson Becker, expecting his return after the upcoming international break
