The Youth Presidents of nine clans across Ikwuano, Umuahia North and Umuahia South — Oboro, Oloko, Ibere, Ariam-Usaka, Ibeku, Ohuhu, Olokoro Uvoma, Ubakala and Umuokpara — have declared solidarity with and unanimously endorsed Rep. Emeka Atuma as their candidate for the Abia Central Senate seat in 2027.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the Youth Presidents, under the umbrella of Umunna Ato, paid a strategic solidarity visit to Atuma at his residence, the Castle of Grace, in Ntalakwu Oboro, Ikwuano Local Government Area.
In their remarks, the Youth Presidents commended Atuma for his continuous and verifiable support to the entire Umunna Ato, noting that his projects and interventions remain visible across Ikwuano and Umuahia. Rising in one voice, they endorsed his Senate bid and pledged to mobilise youths across the nine clans for his victory.
Responding, Atuma thanked the Youth Presidents for the visit, assuring them of his unflinching commitment to Abia Central if elected to the Senate. He charged the youth leadership to draw inspiration from the era of Dr M. I. Okpara, citing the late premier’s model of selflessness, agricultural revolution and people-centred development that made the old Eastern Region a reference point.
The visit ended on a note of celebration, with the Youth Leadership describing the engagement as a memorable moment of brotherhood and shared vision for Abia Central’s future representation.
CDA News Nigeria will continue monitoring political developments across Abia Central ahead of 2027.
