LAGOS — The management and legal team of Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, have broken their silence on his ongoing legal proceedings in the United Kingdom, refuting reports that link the case to alleged “drink spiking” .
In a statement issued on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, signed by Adedoyin Faleye on behalf of the team, the management confirmed that the matter is now before a UK court . The statement urged the public and media to exercise restraint in commenting on the case, stressing that “allegations are not evidence of guilt, and no conclusions should be drawn until the matter has been heard and determined through the appropriate legal process” .
The management specifically addressed the circulating reports concerning drink-spiking, clarifying that such claims “do not form part of any of the allegations or charges before the court” . The team warned against introducing details not contained in the actual case, as doing so “only fuels misinformation and causes unfair prejudice to all parties involved” .
CDA News Nigeria reports that a case under the name Iweh Odinaka has been listed at Snaresbrook Crown Court in London, with a plea and trial preparation hearing scheduled for September 15, 2026 . The court’s Admin Team Lead confirmed the listing, noting that the hearing will be open to the public and precise time and courtroom details will be made available the day before .
The dancer’s detention was previously confirmed by Benjamin Kuti (Oluomo of Derby), founder of the Community of Nigerians in the UK, who urged the public to allow the legal process to take its course . While some reports have linked the case to a sexual offence allegation, the publicly available court confirmation has not independently established the nature of the allegation .
