U.S. President Donald Trump used a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos to proclaim the United States as the world’s “economic engine” while criticizing the direction of Europe.
Addressing global leaders, Trump stated, “The USA is the economic engine on the planet. And when America booms, the entire world booms.” He contrasted this with a pessimistic view of Europe, saying, “I love Europe, and I want to see Europe go good, but it’s not heading in the right direction,” adding that parts of the continent were “not recognizable.”
The remarks came amid ongoing discussions at the forum regarding U.S. geopolitical interests, including renewed attention on Greenland. Trump’s speech emphasized American economic dominance under his leadership while questioning European stability and growth.
