Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has declared that the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Kingsley Chinda, will emerge as the next governor of Rivers State . Wike made this declaration while speaking at a civic reception in Port Harcourt on Tuesday .
According to a statement by his media aide, Lere Olayinka, Wike stated that leaders from the South-South and South-East geopolitical zones would not oppose President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election. “President Tinubu will be re-elected in 2027, and leaders from the South-South and South-East will not work against him,” Wike declared .
He further said that the APC governorship candidate, Kingsley Chinda, would win the 2027 election in Rivers State. “It is Chinda that will be the next governor of Rivers State; there is nothing anybody can do about it,” he asserted .
Wike also defended his support for Tinubu, saying his choice to back the President was based on his belief in Tinubu’s ability to lead Nigeria, adding that he has no regrets about his decision .
