The APC senatorial candidate pledges to deliver purposeful representation, not political rhetoric, in the 2027 election.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Abia Central Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Emeka Atuma, has pledged to build a future where opportunity is not reserved for the few but made possible for all . In his campaign launch, Atuma promised to run an issue-based campaign anchored on truth, dignity, transparency, and responsible representation .
Atuma, who represented Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007 , has a verifiable legislative record. As Chairman of the House Committee on Environment and Ecological Management, he championed the passage of the NESREA Act, 2007, which established the federal agency now responsible for environmental protection and pollution control . He also sponsored private bills that led to the creation of two federal agencies, including NOSTDRA .
CDA News Nigeria gathered that Atuma’s capacity extends beyond legislation. During his tenure, he attracted numerous infrastructure projects, including roads, schools, ecological interventions, and electricity projects across the constituency . He also organized one of the first empowerment programmes by a public office holder in Abia State, providing motorcycles, vehicles, and starter packs for skills acquisition .
The APC candidate has identified human capital development, employment, education, healthcare, infrastructure, youth development, and support for entrepreneurs as his major priorities . He stressed that elective office should be regarded as a responsibility to the people rather than an avenue for personal advancement .
Atuma is seeking the mandate of the people of Abia Central in 2027, pledging to make truth, service, and responsible representation the defining principles of his campaign .
