Lagos Court Remands Man for Exporting Cocaine and Cannabis, Pleads Guilty

A Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered that Uche Ezeh be remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre after he pleaded guilty to charges of exporting substantial quantities of cocaine and cannabis sativa.

The defendant was arraigned by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on a four-count charge before Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke. He pleaded guilty to all counts, which detailed how he recruited others and personally exported 4.40 kilograms of cocaine and 11.50 kilograms of cannabis concealed in food items and plantain chips through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

The court ordered that Ezeh remain in custody until December 12, 2025, when it will review the facts of the case and deliver judgment. The offences contravene Sections of the NDLEA Act and carry severe penalties.
